Die-cast aluminum alloy gives exceptional performance and precision quality at low cost.
Lightweight, long life, rust resistant, tensile strength and hardness is nearly equal to mild steel. Interchangeable bushings, quick mount and dismount, excellent concentricity. Various bearing types are available.
Ideal for wood and paper products, food processing, packaging, general materials handling and power transmission. Split pulleys make line shaft applications easy. No residue or corrosion marks on products. Easy maintenance, energy efficient.

Lump Breaker
Benetreu Lump Breakers allow the lime (calcium oxide) processing system at your paper plant to handle material more efficiently by breaking down large chunks of burnt lime as they are discharged from the lime kiln.
They are built to withstand the heavy loads and high temperatures of lime kilns day-in and day-out. They can be installed under the kiln firehood, or even inside it, to upgrade virtually any system.
Benetreu’s Lump Breakers feature cooled side jackets and rotating shafts. A full complement of models and sizes facilitates installation in existing kilns too. Specify a lump breaker size larger than the kiln discharge opening. Optional accessories insure trouble free operation and convenient maintenance for years of dependable service.
Accessories
- Zero Speed Switch senses stopped shaft due to jammed teeth. It is mounted at the drive end of the lump breaker and driven by a chain drive which connects to the shaft and senses its movement. The zero speed switch can be wired to stop the motor, set off an alarm, or both.
- Hinged Side allows opening of one side of the lump breaker to facilitate inspection or removal of jammed material.
- Oil Tight Chain Guard for the drive chain in place of the standard OSHA type chain guard.
- By-Pass (Transition) Section takes the place of a lump breaker that has been removed from under the fire-hood either with or without a carriage. It matches the upper and lower flanges and inside area of the removed lump breaker.
- Size Selection is based on kiln fire-hood discharge opening. Select a size greater than the opening.
Belt Shifter
Benetreu Belt Shifter Guides are designed to increase the efficiency of your flat belt drives and give you years of dependable, 24-hour a day service. A unique shifter disc design reduces friction on belt edges, increasing belt life. They are adjustable for belt widths from 3 to 12 inches.
Sturdy, yet lightweight construction ensures long life and easy maintenance. Models are available in many different mounting configurations and travel distances to fit your particular application requirements.
Benetreu Belt Shifter Guides are simple to install, sensitive to control, positive to adjust and reasonably priced.
Accessories
ST- Belt Shifter with Slack Take-Up: Used to shift belt shifter discs 4 inches from original belt setting. Air cylinder mounted under disc carriage and secured to positioning screw shifts carriage when operator actuates 4-way solenoid valve. Solenoid valve furnished.
LS – Limit Switches: Provided with adjustable brackets to limit travel of shifter carriage electrically at both ends of carriage travel. Two per set.
PI – Position Indicator: Carriage Position is shown on remote electrical indicator.
Roll Splitter
Accessories
Paper Roll Splitters are designed to turn low value butt rolls or books into high value recyclable paper quickly and easily. Varying diameter rolls may be cut simultaneously, allowing you to achieve high production levels and eliminating expensive sorting and sizing of rolled paper.
Our exclusive dual guide bar design controls blade travel and keeps the blade square while cutting different diameter rolls. The roll mandril has a built-in knife protection insert that keeps the blade sharp in the event of mandril to swing freely for loading and won’t bind, even with the largest rolls of paper.
Built-in safety features like OSHA approved two-hand air controls and mandril lock switch take the worry out of your roll splitting operation. Side doors keep moving parts concealed from workers and the environment.
Since Paper Roll Splitters are fully air operated, there is no fear of electrical shock, allowing outdoor operation. Rigid construction with an easy access to lubrication points, air filter and regulator keeps maintenance to a minimum with little down-time for servicing.
